Outserts for Easton Axis Trad's
« on: July 12, 2017, 12:03:00 PM »
Do they make any? Do you all know of any 250grain tips that will sit flush with the arrow? I purchased a new target and it is a pita to get the arrows out of it.

Black eagle makes a stainless steel (56 gn) one that will fit. I think it is for their rampage shafts that have the x internal diameter.

There are some 250-grain field points that are beveled at the rear.  Don't know the brand or what they're called. They're 11/32 heads, beveled to 5/16-inch at the rear.  The Axis 340s are 9/32 outside diameter, thus, the difference is only 1/32 inch, which translates into a lip of 1/64 inch.  These work quite nicely in targets for me.

You might want to foot the Axis with a piece of an aluminum shaft. It will make your 250 gr. point fit flush and taper the aluminum footing. Will make it easier on target removal and strengthen the front end of your arrow.

If you are using the axis trad 400's then you can get the gold tip ballistic collars for their 600 spine trad shafts and they fit perfect. Thats what i use with 300 grain tips on my axis trad 400's

The standard gold tip kinetic 400 spine is the same od. as the 340 spine axis trads(.270") so you can use the gold colored ballistic collars for the .400 spine kinetics(not the kinetic pierce)

I love the ballistic collars paired with the easton hit inserts. Been using them since they came out and have yet to damage the tip end of the shaft even when stump shooting plus they taper up for a standard 5/16" point

Firenock has a half out insert that is pretty nice.
