Dryad ILF Riser with ACS Limbs....Anyone Own This Setup?
« on: July 15, 2017, 11:48:00 PM »
Hey all,

One riser and limb combo that I have admired for a while is the DRYAD 17" ILF riser with the Havard designed ACS ILF limbs.
I think it's a great looking bow.  You can get both recurve and longbow ILF limbs, if I am reading it right.

I'd like to know more about it cause I don't think I have ever seen a thread about them.  The Recurve looks like it has some serious performance built into those limbs even if it doesn't have the Havard ACS technology.
I also don't think I've ever seen one of these complete bows for sale either.  I guess that's a very good thing.

Anyway, if anyone out there owns this setup or has owned it in the past, how about telling about it. I'd like to know how it compares to the other popular, similarly priced recurve bows like the Black Widow, Silvertip, Robertson, CariBow and so forth.

Lastly, because it has the Havard ACS tech in the limbs, I am assuming that it has the same performance characteristics as the A&H ACS TD Longbows have that were all the rage about 10 years ago or so.  The ones where you can shoot 5 pounds less draw weight and get the same performance with the same arrow.  Do the Dryad ACS bows have this performance as well?

Let's hear your thoughts and experiences please.

Thanks all.
Larry

I think the ACS RC limbs outperform the A&H, but the A&H Longbow limbs outperform the dryad Longbow limbs. I've only owned the RC limbs in ILF but had the Longbow limbs in the bolt down variety and wife has the RC limbs in bolt down! I think the Dryad are a more robust less fragile limb and very fast! I really doubt you will be disappointed with any of them! The bolt downs do have a slight edge over the ILF in performance because it's a more efficient limb connection. There used to be an article you can read about that on their webpage if you poke around you might find it!

I have both the Orion bolt down and a set of ILF acs longbow limbs. Both are all I want in a limb. Quick, quiet and smooth. They are both set up for a fixed crawl and are quieter then I thought they would be. Would recommend either of these. Have not had a chance to shoot the RC limb.

I love the looks of their ILF Risers in the 17 and 15 inch.  To my eye I think they are one of the best looking bows out there.  Boy I sure would love to get one of their ILF recurve rigs.  I've got a Morrison 17" aluminum ILF riser now and it shoots good, but I'd like to see how a Dryad ILF ACS rig in 45# would compare to my bow.

I might have to start ciphering on how I can get me one of these Dryad rigs!

Thanks all.

I have the Dryad ACS recurve limbs mounted on the Black Wolf all carbon 17" riser.  What a wonderful performer.
