Ron, I sure do remember the canoe shoot. There was a floating gator anchored to a big tree root against the bank. My buddy and I both nailed it low in the kill area. Our canoe paddler was a young man about 16 or 17. He said, "That's not good." Us---"Whatta ya' mean not good?" When we paddled up to pull arrows, the arrows were below the canoe gunnel level so very little space (no make that no space) to pull them straight back, the gator rocked back and forth when we tried to pull them, and we nearly dumped the canoe before getting them out.
It was a blast. Never had as much fun as I had at Marshall.
