« on: July 21, 2017, 05:06:00 PM »
Unable to find white feathers with grey or black bars that angle back towards the nock . Got gateways from 3-Rivers but the bars angle forward and don`t look right to me . Lookin for RW 4in Shield cut'

Looks like you want natural barred feathers.  Check out Josh Eckterling in the sponsor classifieds.  He probably has some.

I believe the gateway feathers have the look you're after.

The Gateways from 3-Rivers are no way similar to cat pics .

Thanks to all that responded . Just said to heck with it and am using those 4in shield cut trad feathers with the bars running in the wrong direction . Natural turkey feathers were a bit too dark but maybe in the future and if so will contact Hitman or Josh .

I use a lot of natural turkey feathers that I process from start to finish.  On real turkey feathers you get a mix of lines going toward the back of the feather and bars going forward, some with bars going straight up.  They vary a lot.

The gateways are the ones where the bars run back toward the nock end of the arrow, but look NOTHING like a real barred turkey feather.  The Trueflight ones are closer to the real thing in terms of appearance.

Buy the white feathers, and a felt marker in the colour you like, and bar your own.

I have to 2nd the TrueFlight natural barred feathers!!!
I buy them by the hundred from 3Rivers. They're all my son Tyler will use, and being as he's doing the fletching, well...
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!
