Need new arrow gripper for a delta quiver
« on: July 28, 2017, 09:42:00 PM »
Picked up a used Delta 7 arrow bow quiver at Denton Hill. The rubber gripper isn't to bad but would like a back up. Where do I find one......looked where I thought they might be but no luck.......thanks in advance.

Are you shooting skinny arrows. If not I have one or two of the original ones that I could bring to the Muzzy shoot.

Sure, I go to Hanna Rubber here in K.C., Mo. and they have shelves in their show room full of rubber remnants and find the proper thickness. These remnants are cheap. Take your old gripper and trace around it on the rubber piece. Then using a big scissors (shears)cut your round ring to match the shape of the old gripper. A box knife will work, just not as easy to keep a smooth edge. Then I use a set of hole cutters that are in a punch set that you hit with a hammer to cut your holes for the arrows. You get to choose the size that work best for your arrows. Then using a box knife cut the entrance slots for your arrows. I am sure Harbor Freight sells these hammer punches. If you send me an email I'll send you a picture of them and the brand and model #.If Photo bucket wasn't messed up I would have posted pictures. Any rough edges around the outside of your gripper can be smoothed up on a table grinder with a coarse wheel (all though stinky)!
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

Many, many thanks to JimB from Montana. He sent me a brand new gripper free of charge. One of the many reasons I spend time on this site. I just sent him a thank you that he should have in a couple of days.   :notworthy:    :notworthy:
