Archery Taking a Backseat

Wow...I cannot imagine living somewhere that I cannot shoot a bow on my own property. Heck, like bucknut, I shoot my handguns in my yard regularly! I can understand regulations against shooting firearms in congested areas and city limits, but even there I cant see why archery is not allowed. That's akin to commie thoughts to me.

I live in a subdivision where I'm pretty sure it's not okay to shoot bows but I've been doing it for many years and am sure not to be an agitation to the neighbors.  They are well aware of it but I go out of my way to be a good neighbor.

One possible solution would be to find a vacant lot nearby and ask permission to shoot there.  A portable foam target would be unobtrusive.

I can't shoot in my back yard either. I didn't shoot for a half hour tonight.

Sorry about your situation.  I broke a few rules regarding where I shot when I lived in NJ.  I am very fortunate now, and even with a crazy work schedule I get to fling arrows 5-6 days a week, even if it is just a few after dark using the porch light.

I'd rather drive longer to work than have to live under those rules if shooting.

NOT TO BE disrespectful but I would not live in such places that did not even allow a Bow to cast an arrow in my yard with a proper backstop. I live in Arkansas and have 14000 acres Game management area State owned within 10 miles but I hunt behind my house. I shoot a Bow most every day. I am certainly sympathetic to you Gents but would move to a more BILL OF RIGHTS type area.
