You can thank Drew Sumrell for the spark. I'm just trying to get a flame going. We need more tender and oxygen. That will have to come from a joint effort.

Please keep the input coming. Conflicts with other nearby shoots is a main thing we are trying to avoid. If you know of other big shoots in the spring, please chime in. Anything in SC, NC, VA, KY, TN, OH, WV, MD.... pretty much anything within 350 miles or so of Fries.

I'd most definitely make getting there a priority. It's a bit hard to find a place in VA farther away at 5 hours, but that's still closer than ETAR.

My club (Northern Virginia Archers) may be able to provide a few 3D targets. No guarantees, I'll have to talk to the rest of the board once a date is picked.

I know that the Rinehart 100 is usually about the first weekend in May in Staunton, VA. I don't know how many trad guys and girls it draws though. The contingent from our club that goes religiously are all wheel shooters.

Maybe someone from Sherwood Archers in Roanoke will chime in.  Their STAR shoot in June was very nicely done, but not crowded.  They clearly put in a lot of work to make it happen.  Joining forces for a large trad rendezvous may be of interest.

Depending on time of the year I would be very interested.  Live near Salem now but formerly from Wytheville and work in that area a lot.

I'd be there depending on the timing.

Forster and Darrin,

Suggestions on timing and why? Right now this is just an idea stage so any input is welcomed.

Others?  :)

That's why some are thinking Memorial Day weekend. As a potential vendor Bowman, when would suit you in an April/May setting??

Is there anything going on in the second weekend in April somewhat nearby?

Thanks for the tip on those shoots.

When is the KY Trad Fest?

Spring turkey season is in full swing in April/early May. I'm usually chasing gobblers any day I have off during that time. And sometimes life stuff just happens, no way to predict that kinda stuff...but I'd love to attend if this happens.

The Baltimore Bowmen Classic is May 18-20 this year.  I would sure be interested in this idea.

Guys this post is 6 or7 months old and I believe they moved the dates to middle of Oct. for the knapping, not sure if archery shoot is included. Bob
