50/50 low odor mineral spirits and oil based poly gloss here. Dries quick. In about 6 hours you can dip again.
I dip once. Let dry. Dip again. Let dry. 0000 steel wool rubdown on shaft. Check straightness and adjust if needed. Dip a 3rd time and let it dry completely. I can dip once in the morn. Once that evening. Then the next morn a steel wool scrub and 3rd dip. Then glue everything up by that evening.
Humidity does play a factor in dry time. The higher the humidity is, the longer the dry time. I just stepped away from finishing arrows that started yesterday morning as raw shafts. Literally. No target burn with the 50/50 that I have seen. It's a tough finish.
