Arrow Holder with Rubber band
« on: October 12, 2017, 10:45:00 AM »
I know i've seen them before, but I can't remember where.. Rogers post about the Arrow Canoe made me think about them again..

When you draw back, it falls off.

Where can I get one of these?  I feel like a friend was making them, or something like that.

"There is a way which seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death."  Proverbs 14:12

The easiest one requires drilling two holes in your bow.  Then then you insert two pins (brazing rod or brass rod - but 1/2" lengths of nails will work).

You want 1/8" to 3/16" of rod sticking out in the front and back.  The front just over the shaft and the back just below the shaft.  Then you take a 2" rubber band and place it over the front peg, over the arrow and around the rear peg.  When you draw it slides off the rear peg and flips away.

Alternate is a tiny screw eye up front that the rubber band is looped through to retain the loose band.

I use my left index finger.  Free and requires no holes in the bow.  ;-)

Here's a link showing one that incorporates a toothpick/olive skewer instead of pegs (also no holes).

I use a stick and a rubber band taped to the riser.

Charlie, you can get along with only one hole / post.  In the rear above your hand.  Take a small band and loop it around the post and thru itself... pull snug and it stays there.  With arrow in place, take free end of band, around arrow and onto the post.  When you draw it comes off ( but the other end stays tied to the post.
