What string for me?
« on: November 17, 2017, 10:55:00 PM »
I have a Treadway Black Forest dragonfly bow and the string is Mia....nice bow and what kind of string do I need, 64 long 50 lbs @30 inched.

If I go back 3 inches I need a 61 inch string but what kind, fast flight? Dacron 50?

Thanks for any help
its not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog

I just got a Black Forest earlier this year.  Mike makes his bows to accept whatever string you want to use.  My personal preference is BCY-X, 18-20 strands, loops padded with B-55 in Flemish to 24 strands.  Halo or 62XS serving sized to fit the type nock you use.  I'll have to check to be sure, but I think Mike's bows are marked correctly according to AMO, so you would need a 61" string.

I have used Fury and BCY X on my Treadway's with no problems.  You will need a 61" string.

Would be hard to beat a Fury string from 10 Rings!

You could always contact the bowyer and ask for his suggestion.
