I do the best hunting sign that isnt there...yet. i like finding funnels and pinches with old sign and a little new sign. Seems like it works best when you can hunt the funnel before and while it gets tore up with sign if that makes sense at all.  I always look for both new and old sign to confirm a trend.

I have had zero luck hunting Scrapes or Rubs specifically.  I like to find Travel routes in Funnels.  Usually the other sign shows up eventually like rubs and scrapes.  I usually flub up at least one potential shot opportunity each year..

I like to hunt buck tracks.  The ones where the buck is still in them.

I setup scrapes at each ground set, typically before June.

Before I set cams, i inspect scrapes for large tracks...looking for 2 3/4 to 3 1/4" tracks.which indicate a mature buck in my area. Have had some 3 1/2" tracks this season.

Run cams on scrapes starting in August to monitor which scrapes will be productive. CAMS checked every two to three days last week of October and during the rut.
