Leather cover for Kwikee Kwiver
« on: December 07, 2017, 06:54:00 AM »
I am look for an individual or company that can make me a leather cover for a 6 arrow  Kwikee Kwiver.  I tried to do it myself and it turned out pretty dang ugly.   I want something really neat.  I have used the Kwikee Kwivers for 25 years and love them but they are just not the most pretty things.

I would like something really nice. Maybe two tone leather or something with a neat embossed  animal???  I would post a picture here of what I want but this picture posting thing finally got the best of me, lol.

Thanks

Talk to "oklahomaleatherman" KC Kreger. He's a sponsor here (Traditions Leathercraft) and a good man with a real talent for leather work.

Jerry- FWIW. . . I covered my older Delta (Now Asbell I think ?) quiver. I took soft tanned elk hide and cut a pattern that would fit nicely.  I then actually used contact cement to glue it over the plastic hood. I tucked in the edges inside the quiver where the foam presses back in to hold it.  I made very nice seams that could easily be laced with leather if you wanted, but they were so smooth I just glued them well- then filled the seam further with a bead of fletch-tight.  If I could post pics I would.  But it is really nice looking and has been going strong for 15+ years of hunting in everywhere and every weather from AK, Canada, and many states.

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

Man I tried it myself and it just looked bad.

As much as I would like to be one of those guys that can do stuff like this, I am not.

Now if you need a guy that can put you on a big bear, alligator, hog or caribou- that's me but don't let me craft something for you, lol.

I did my 3 arrow Kwikee but dont know how to post.
I just believe someone good with leather could do well selling hood covers as Kwikees are a tough tested quiver.I would like to see how someone creative would hide the arm as well.If you find someone let us know Mr Jerry!

Jerry, there are two kinds of people in the art world. Those few who can produce it, and those of us who can only appreciate it. I'm in the same group you are in. If you do get somebody to make it for you, let us see the pics.

+1 for Scott Teaschner. Unfortunately he is no longer in the business I assume? I foolishly let one go with a Silvertip I sold a few years back.

Wish I still had it. They are hard to come by. Quality is top notch.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" Isaiah 6:8
