Finally heading home (and to the woods)
« on: December 13, 2017, 09:28:00 AM »
With another semester of college ending I'm about to head home and hunt the last couple weeks of our archery season here in WV. Hopefully Lady Luck is on my side and one of my tags gets punched. I'll keep y'all updated.

Good Luck!  Great way to decompress after finals week.  Beautiful country and big bucks in the Mountain State!

Well got my hunting bow for this year out and shot some broadheads today, four inch groups at thirty yards and around six inch groups at forty. Feeling pretty good about my shooting but just to maximize the chances of an ethical kill I’m not shooting at a deer past 25 yards.

Good luck to you, it sure is gratifying to kill one this late in season. I'm still trying for my second one this year.

Good luck and enjoy your time in the woods.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Well, about a week left in the season and with Christmas coming up fast it don't look like I'm gonna be getting much more hunting done.
As far as I'm concerned that's okay, I got to go out with my grandpa a couple times, saw a nice doe that I let walk by my blind at thirty yards, and just had a good time.
For anyone still getting after it good luck and be safe guys.
