Hoyt Buffalo or ILF
« on: December 23, 2017, 05:01:00 PM »
What limbs will fit on a Hoyt buffalo bow? I have seen a lot of limbs for sale but I just don't understand the system, like will ILF limbs fit? Which would you go with Buffalo or ILF?

Uukha makes a conversion kit to make the Buffalo ilf compatible.

Hoyt uses their Formula limbs for the Buffalo, like an ILF limb but not the same. The distance from the dovetail to limb bolt is longer then an ILF limb.Like said Uukha makes an adapter to use ILF limbs for Hoyt bows that use Formula limbs.Border makes some of their Hex series limbs made in the Formula style for Hoyt bows.I have some Hoyt Formula F7 limbs I shoot in my Buffalo.

If you haven't actually bought a Buffalo yet, skip it and just buy a Satori.  ILF and so many more limb options without needing adapters.  The Satori is the bow/riser the Buffalo should have been the first time around.

Gotta agree with nineworlds, I would personally go with ILF. I do have a tiburon which uses formula and it’s a good bow. But would rather go ILF if buying new

Uukha adapter should only be used with Uukha limbs.

How much weight can you adjust on ILF limbs?

Approximately 10% of stated weight.

50# = 5#
40# = 4#
30# = 3#

Definitely ILF if you a Hoyt guy get the satori if not than you have a TON of amazing choices in hunting style risers!
I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6

I would buy the Satori as well. But I believe the Buff riser can be converted to ILF. I send my risers to Loc Do up in San Jose, CA. It costs about $80 plus the shipping.
I have seen a couple Satori risers for sale on the other site.

Nope, the distance on the Buffalo between the button slot and the bolt slot is too long. No way to shorten it.
