I’ve been getting back into the trad world recently with one of Frank San Marco’s prototype recurves I got back in 2008. I called him up to ask about arrow tuning, and he mentioned that he’s worked out and built a new glass backed hybrid design. He was telling me that he collected some data on it, but needed someone to run the numbers to get a force-draw curve and the stored energy. I calculated the force-draw curve and the stored energy for him. He also sent his data to Blacky Schwarz who confirmed the numbers I had. His new San Marco Eagle is storing about 49 ft-lbs for a 51.3# @ 28” bow. This puts him at the top end of glass-backed bows. He said he’ll debut the Eagle at ETAR this year, and will be building them on a limited basis after that. For any questions feel free to contact Frank at (845) 628-5717.
