If it's on when I shoot I am fine with that, if it's not, I am fine with that too. But like most, if I am outside I just want to hear outside stuff. The caveat being in the city, if I am in town I will do all I can to drown out those noises.

People use music as a divergence.  When I make strings and arrows, I have some back ground noise. Watching glue dry gets a little boring.  When I do my warm ups and scales on my guitar, I have Hogan's Heros on the TV for a distraction.  A couple of years ago, a couple that were camping at an area park had a lot of noise going on, before they started screaming at each other.  He had a ghetto blaster going and she was watching a portable television.  He got irritated by the TV and turned up the radio.  Then she turned up the TV.  This continued until they were yelling at each other.  Thankfully, they got so mad that they fired up the camper and left.  I have been to indoor lanes where loud radios were playing, perhaps when one person is shooting alone, the distraction could motivate some patience, but when the people shooting do not have control of the distraction, it can be an annoyance.

I love music. Love to play it, love to see it played live, and love to listen at various times. I can listen to it while I drive, when I target shoot at home, or work on arrows, & etc..

But not in the woods.....      :nono:

I play worship music at church. But I confess that I prefer retro music, I guess. Acoustic slide/blues music, '70s southern rock and '70s-'80s country. I like to try to do some "chicken pickin" on my Telecaster, which probably explains why I tend to pluck my release when I shoot.......

I don’t play music while I’m shooting because I enjoy shooting and don’t need anything to go with it. When I’m on my rowing machine, which is about the only aerobic exercise my old knees will stand, I need music. Seems to make the time go by twice as fast.

Wow, lots of replies. Thanks. Again, I never play music while Hunting or Shooting with others. I do not play it to distract me. If anything it inspires me. And to be honest I seem to get a better feel of the shot when listening to music. Guys, I know Im a weird one. And like you guys, I love the sound of Nature and Silence, and the feel like you are in it. Just part of the Woods. And at times my arrows are flying to led zeppelin. Take care guys and thanks again .

Aggressive music with any outdoor You Tube or TV show, they all do it and think they are putting on a real show.  It does not make me excited, it makes me turn it off.

Music while shooting would divide my attention, but I love Ennio Morricone; I’m with you there!

Well Pavan, I agree with you on those shows. Mostly crap. But that is not at all what my experience is like. I guess I am just not going to be able to relay my individual experience to someone who isn't me. I am a Rabid individualist. Keep Flippin Arrows & have fun, music or no.

No Terry, no trick. Just wanted to know if there were anybody else who does this? Looks like no. I guess that makes me a rare jewel on this one. Everyone is different somehow. And to me different does not equal bad.I will look to see what makes each person I meet special and unique. Well, I am off the flip some arrows. Take care guys and be good to each other. Not for me. Music doesn't relax me. Peace, quiet and concentrating on my shooting relax me.

My Tinnitus keeps me company no matter what I'm doing, so no music for me.

What key is yours?  Mine sounds like I’m in an aviary.  I hear 20 or 30 birds tweeting softly in the background, all the time.
