Hoyt Satori

Looking for opinions on the Hoyt Satori. Currently am shooting a black widow SA III but thinking of adding another bow to the collection. Would love any input or pics that y’all might have!

I have shot one. I thought the grip was a little high, more target style. New grips are available now. The one I shot had a set of the “super curve” limbs on it. It’s a sturdy riser more than say the Excel. I felt no movement after the shot, that was with his light arrows.
 There are some used Satori risers and bows for sale on other sites. Some guys with deep pockets bought the different length risers to try. I liked the 19” riser myself.

I have and had the 19” and the 21”.  Great ILF riser. It comes with sidewall plates but I use an elevated rest.  I don’t know about the new plates but on the first ones the plate screw could strip out easily. Only the 17” isn’t drilled/tapped for a quiver.  

While it’s a great riser for hunting, I’m not a huge fan of Hoyt limbs vs some other ones.
Personally I run Morrison Max 4s on mine, but I own/owned other limbs for hunting.   I’ve never had a limb fit issue but others reported problems.

Yeah, I got a sweet deal on one, shot it a couple times and sold it, nice riser but the Hoyt grip sucked, definitely recommend getting a Jager Grip for it. I bought it to try the fixed crawl thing, it worked, but reminded me of shooting a wheel bow, not natural feeling or fun, but it was very accurate way to shoot!

I just picked one up with a set of the new TT Carbon Extreme limbs.  19" Buckskin.
I like the grip, but it can be easily changed.
Seems to balance nicely.  Only issue is the open backs of limb pockets.  Same as the Titan II and Titan III.  I prefer the closed ends as on the Morrisons.  Not enough of an issue since I don't remove the limbs.
The side plates are nice so far as adjusting centershot.

I have one in 17" and it shoots straight for me. I do like the grip but it's easy to see why somebody would not. The bow also feels dead in the hand due to it's weight. I shoot off the shelf with two of the spacers attached (6mm bloodlines 3x5,5"). If you dont mind the weight go for it.

I love the satori! I started out with 17 and medium limbs for a 60 in bow. I had a set of Hoyt carbon foam limbs already so I put those on it and it is sweet. Love the adjustability of ILF, and the deflex, of the riser. The grip is perfect for me, MUCH better than the previous Hoyt low grips on the buffalo. I shoot fixed crawl with a NAP Centerest and ended up with a slight negative tiller that has my bareshafts flying straight.

The weight for me is just about right, it’s really solid and steady while I expand through the release.

I liked it so much I got a second one recently on the classifieds here. This one is a 21 with the standard limbs. Took me but a short time to set it up and tune it to the same arrows from my other one. The standard limbs are good, but if buying new I would go for a riser in your flavor and a set of blackmax carbon/wood limbs. You would save a bit and have slightly better limbs in my opinion.

Again, the satori is the ideal riser for me!

I bought one in November with black max carbon/wood limbs. I like a low wrist grip so took mine to the belt sander numerous times. It's perfect for me now. I love this bow. It's on the heavy side, but that's one reason I bought it. I'm steadier with a heavier bow. 19" riser with med limbs = 62". Jim

I had a 21" and sold it. Didn't like the way it felt or shot for me. Lot of options out there for ILF risers. I prefer the WF19, ******** Titan and DAS much more.
Try some different risers before you buy one.
Some people seem to like the Satori, not me.
