Dear Tradgangers,
I am trying to bring up and running an old Samick recurve I have at my parents' house. It's a 62#@29" and I am struggling to find some decent aluminum shafts for it. I would like to put the 190gr. Simmons Interceptors on it, but shafts that are stiff enough are also a bit large for the broadheads, creating a ledge that I am afraid is going to have an impact on penetration.
I was thinking to try carbon shafts, so to get something around .340 spine and still matching a 5/16" point diameter. The problem is that I am using a 20 strands dacron string. Carbon shafts all seem to come with nocks suitable for a thinner fastflight string. Do you know of suitable nocks that would fit a carbon shaft?
Admittedly, 20 strands might be overkill (suggestions are welcome), but even going down a few strands, I don't think the default nocks would fit.
Thank you for any advice,
Max
