Adjustable Nocking Point (Ray Hammond)

Have a little tip that is kind of neat, if everyone doesn’t already know about it…

Its for a nock point that ‘screws’ up or down on the serving, but can’t be pushed up or down…so it’s a lot neater than the little brass/rubber jobs that have to be pried off with pliers,etc.

Take a 20 inch piece of serving, preferably in a different color than your serving is on the string… start out with the bow in your lap, strung up, string nearest your face or handle in your lap,  and begin with a double overhand knot to anchor it to the string, with the knot ‘under the

string…then come up on top and make a right over left overhand knot, then go under and do a left over right overhand knot, up and do another right over left, continue this for 9 repetitions, and finish with a double overhand on top of the string. Cut off excess and burn with a lighter or match to ‘seal’ the two end knots up tight. Do not use glue, or you will bond the nock to the serving…You can now screw the nock point up the string by twisting it in one direction, and screwing in the other direction it goes down the string.
