Sinew Harvest and Preparation Pictorial
« on: October 03, 2004, 01:43:00 PM »
Here's a pictorial I just added to my site showing how I get my years supply of Elk sinew..... I usually wind up with enough for myself and a few friends as well.....Terry

Dang what a nice presentation Terry.Good job!

Never considered getting sinew from the front of the leg, or rinsing in bleach and hanging to dry. We just cut it out from the back and lay it on wax paper. Course elks is a lot bigger than deers ha ha.

I would think it would only take about 20 mins to dry in that heat and lack of humidity ha ha.

LOL.... actually it does only take a day or two with 100 degrees temps and 15% humidity to get working sinew...... AZ is definitely sinew friendly.....Terry

Terry you left out all the hard work, or do you send the tendons out to be pounded and seperated?  :bigsmyl:

Nice pictorial Terry. I been clamping the hoof in my 4"bench vise and it has helped a bunch to hold things steady. Will do a bunch of bison before long.
