I was trying to come up with something new to do to break up another cold winter day, and with the kids home from school today, my son and I devised some friendly competition.
Our basement shooting is close range, about 10 yds. So our emphasis is on good form and tight groups.
We started out by stringing all the bows on the rack. They consist of the following:
Bear Grizzly - 40#
Bear Grizzly - 45#
Bear Kodiak Mag- 50#
Red Wing Hunter- 45#
River Raisin LB- 53#
Thunderstick Mag- 49#
Thunderstick MOAB- 57#
First round was 3 arrows each, tightest group with a randomly selected bow.
Second round-7 arrows- tightest group, 1 arrow from each bow.
Third Round- 3 arrows, one from each of 3 bows chosen by the other shooter.
THen we started shooting 1 arrow closest to the center of the bullseye from a random bow chosen by the other shooter.
We continued to mix it up and had some fun shooting a lot of different bows that havent been strung in quite a while.
I remembered how much easier it is shooting them lighter weight recurves than my MOAB, I must be getting old LOL.
Sure is a big pile of bows laying around down there now. There were a couple of others we shouls have tossed in to the mix, but hey, its still early!
