Strind Nock Height
« on: March 06, 2007, 01:00:00 PM »
Is there a "standard" measurement for string nock height? I've seen where some say measure the perpindicular distance from the arrow shelf up to the bottom of the string nock. I've seen where others say measure the distance between the top of the arrow nock (arrow perpindicular) to the bottom of the string nock.

Yep, like Robert said, I do not think there is a standard measurement but this is a standard way to measure it. Nock point height will vary shooter to shooter, bow to bow depending on may variables.
shoot straight shoot often

Where your nock point goes depends on if you knock on the bottom or the top of your nocking point.  (John Schulz recommends nocking on the top.  He says it is faster.).

Anyway, you want your arrow to be an 1/8, 3/16, or whatever, up from the arrow shelf.  Just take the 5/16" (or whatever diameter arrow you shoot) and add the amount of rise you use to it.  That is where your nocking point goes.  Mark the string at this point.  You decide if you want your nocking point above or below this mark.
