Anybody shot the Rhinehart-100?
« on: March 09, 2007, 03:33:00 PM »
Its a 100 target, traveling 3d shoot. Hek you even get to shoot a full size giraffe! Its in east texas this weekend, so my trad buddies and i are gonna go show them boys how to shoot  ;)  . Never shot it before so i was just wondering if yall could tell me what to expect. What kinda ranges are the trad stakes? Do they give trophies and such, or just door prizes?

For my fellow east texans, yall should come out and shoot. Its in winona. Call ducks and bucks archery for info....903 939 0693

Do they have a schedule of where they'll be and when? sounds like it might be fun. I bet them guys with the training wheels will show up too.

If the shoot is like it is in Pa. be prepared wait behind the back up of wheelie shooters . They have their lawn chairs, range finders , binoculars and target maps ,etc. Kind of takes the fun out of the shoot for me. There is a lot of cool animals to shoot at.

They have world record deer replicas. Bring your camera. The one I went to here in AZ. they had the alien from the movies it was 18' tall and you needed a ladder to get your arrows out. Tons of fun but a little expensive.

They bring some really great anamils to shot at. We are going to divide it into North American and African sides of range. It is pricey but there are some prizes to be given away also.

Have shot it twice here in Wisconsin. Targets are great, bring your camera and the kid's. It does take a long time to shoot if their is alot of sight shooters there. In the past if a club does hold this r-100 they have it for two years.Shane

So if you guys dont mind, check the screen that has the scores on it and let me know how i did, or at least what took first. I shot a 407 and it is posted as kyle allen.
thanks

Wow, im impressed. I shot pretty well i just dropped too many 5's on the smaller targets. Think i had 13 5's. Uggghh, lol. I really gotta practice up for the asa pro am thats comin up. Its a 40 target shoot and in the past it takes a 380 to win it. Yikes!! Its a big money shoot.

Me and a buddy and our junior bowshooting partners (his nephew and my grandson)hot the R-100 in Georgia March 4 and we had a great time---whenever we got backed up behind the tech boys we just shot some more at the same targets, different yardages, different angles (within safety considerations), etc. Kids (and adults) loved the life-size African animals--20 foot giraffe, big Cape, big kudu, waterbuck, cheetah grabbing a gazelle....

I shot a 414 on the African side on Saturday. Had the wife and kids with me so we got stuck behind the slow shooters. Took us 7 hours to shoot the thing. We waited on some targets as much as 25 minutes probably. If I ever go where Cobras are I'm gonna pass on a shot, I wounded every one of those suckers.

Anyone else notice that the African targets have real horns?  I thought that was neat.

I don't have a problem with compound shooters at all. I shot them for many years. But what I do have a problem with are the guys that stare and stare and stare, adjust their sight, stare some more, adjust their sight and stare some more. Then draw and hold and hold and hold and hold some more. Then just dang near miss the target. LOL.
