Would A 2018 Work?...
« on: March 29, 2007, 05:18:00 PM »
Currently shooting 3O" 2413's, 29" draw, 56-60lbs
which work very well.

Just got one of two bows I ordered that are/will be 53-54lbs@29". I'm pretty sure a 30" 2213 will work well and the 2413's I'm shooting with my heavier stuff will be stiff but OK.

Thinking that 2018's might be a better choice for the lighter draws, but unsure if they will have enough spine at 30".

Opinions, based on experience?...

A 2018 has a spine of 0.464 and a 2213 has a spine of .0458.Really close in spine but the 2018 is heavier at 12.3 gpi and the 2213 is 9.8 gpi.But although they are close in spine they may react different depending on how close to center the bow is cut.Plus the 2213 being larger diameter.I like 2018's for alot of my bows,a 30" 2018 with 125 gr. point will weigh around 535 grs. and the 2213 will be around 70 grs. less.According to the spine charts they are close, but they are different diameters may react differently.I would think they should work for you, plus a 2018 is alittle tougher of an arrow compared to the thinner walled 2213.

ND, what weight points do you use with your 2413s?

I've got close to the same draw (29.5") and poundage as your old setup, but I've been using 31" 2314s w/125gr field points.  They've never impressed me, but I've yet to find a lighter, straight-shooting alternative among my junk arrow collection. When I'm off, it's usually indicative of overspine, and I both acknowledge and accept that the Easton charts are overspined for trad bows.

I shoot a 54#@29 1/2 Chek mate Longhorn. 30 1/2 2018s  with 125 gr FP are the best setup.I think I bareshaft tested but that was 5 years ago and I don't remember the details.2117 is a little stiff,2016 shoots ok but not with BH.55-75 gold tips loaded up to 550 gr shoot well also.
A lot depends on the riser cut and your form but I would certainly givethem a try.

I use 125's on the 2413's Shooty.

I know the spines are so close as to be almost identical between the 2018-2213 at 30", but I can't even remember the last time I've seen a 2018 let alone shot one!

The 30" 2213's shoot extremely well out of the new Hunter 56, 53#@29", BTW...

that point weight and 2018s work for me and mine are cut to be 30 1/4".
They hold up well too. I still have some that I got in the 20th century   :bigsmyl:
It depends on the bow, shelf, set-up, etc.
