First Finger Joints

For me a deep hook is string in the second joint from the finger tip

Sorry about that. I should of worded it better. Is the first joint on your fingers referred to or considered a deep hook.

I was thinking the second joints, I'm new at this and didn't know for sure...

I don't know what the 'clarification' is...but I 'hook' on the string at the 1st joints.

I started out on the tips, or pads, and shot like that for a while....then I got a suggestion from a well known shooter to hook on instead....and I never looked back.

1. The bow automatically felt 10 pounds lighter.

2. I felt more in control of the bow and shot.

3. I got a lot better release due to not having all that tension in the back of my hand.

4. The bow was quieter on the shot.

5. I was more accurate

THANK YOU .. I tried the 'hook' on the string at the 1st joints today. Seemed like a world of difference to me.

When shooting a glove I prefer to hook in the first joint, but with a tab I get a much cleaner release with a deep hook, second joint. Just experiment and see what gives you a clean consistent release and the tightest groups.

Small world, I live up by the Old Hill Farm Dairy on Schuylkill St soon as you crest the top of the hill third house on the right.

Agh Hidden Valley brings back allot of memories. Lots of big deer back in there. Used to be able to walk across the golf course to get back in.

Times have changed and no longer able to get back in there from the golf parking lot.

I poke around out at Tumbling Run, I'm sure you know where that is
