Striker Stinger Or Black Mountain Sheepeater Spirit

I've narrowed My next bow down to these to and am looking for opinions On both bows.

I mostly hunt on the ground and had alot of trouble shooting my 64 inch longbow from my natural blinds this season.

I have shot miss hope striker and really enjoyed her.I realize she's not a stinger but she shot great for me. I live close enough to visit the striker shop to shoot if i can find the time.

I shoot 3 fingers under and would like around 50#'s at 28 inches if that helps.

I have a Stinger and it is a very fast and smooth bow. I had a few guys shoot mine this weekend and they all commented on how fast and quiet it was.  

Mine is 56" and is 49@28.

Hello,  I have a buddy that's got a stinger..I have shot both and like Vermonster said "two very different bows"..I would go with the striker stinger.

Kinda depends on how short you want to go.  The Sheepeater is 48" and is great for shooting sitting on your can if you want.  A 56" is more for sitting on a stool.

Pretty much comes down to what feels better to you. I'd visit Stryker if they're that close and try what they have to offer and speak some with Brent at Black Mountain. They'll help you along in the right direction.

I have a 60" Stinger with a draw weight of 50# at 29.5".
I really like my Stinger but I can't comment on the Sheep Eater.
Go with Stinger since Sriker Bows is close to you.

Another thumbs up for the Stinger.  I really like mine.  I had Miss Faith and it shoots very similar to the one piece Stinger.  It's a fine performing bow short longbow.  No handshock, smooth draw.  Had Rick build me a grip that fits my hand like a glove.  Very nice bow.  Go visit Rick.  But it's only fair to warn you that if you do, you'll prolly lay some green down on a deposit.  

Can't comment on the Sheep Eater bow.  Never shot one.

Well, I'll chime in.   I don't help Brent make them anymore, but I will say that the Sheepeater is a very forgiving hunting bow in such a short package, and one that you will have no problems, whatsoever, mastering.   I too am a longbow and selfbow shooter, and I can shoot my Sheepeater nearly as well as any bow I own, and I own a bunch!   It's a great bow for blinds or stillhunting, and inexperienced shooters will get all the forgiving qualities they need, in a short package.   There is no short bow, IMO, that comes close to this one...it's destined to become a real classic bow.  Don't take my word for it.   My hunting buddy's son, Riley, killed his first bull elk with his this year.  He's 14 years old!   Last year he took his first buck with this bow, also.

go with the stinger, i am pretty new to the traditional archery and the stinger for me shoots great, and the craftmanship from rick ellis is unmatched in all accountants. not mention hes a great guy to work with. i am picking up my second stinger on the 1st of dec, and my wife just ordered one also.

 In blinds these little bows are great, as they allow a lot more freedom to shoot without hitting the walls etc.
 In bush they are very easy to shoot as well. I have shot all of Brents Sheepeater models and my top pick is the Obsidian. The wraped grip model I have is easy to shoot also,and i would never trade it or sell it,but I do like the looks of the Black Obsidian, and it blends into the black blinds.
 
 The Obsidian was not available when we did the review, or I would have chosen it as I do a lot of blind hunting in a DB . The sheepeaters have surprising performance for such a small package.

Shoot a Sheepeater before you do anything. Brent is top quality people. As for the bow, it is some sort of anomaly. There are bows that shoot great, and bows that shoot great for their length. Then theres a bow that makes you say "wait, how'd it do that?"

Brents house sits among some old tepee rings (presumably Sheepeaters). I suspect what he aint tellin' is that the shop is built on an old burial ground what has some sort of mojo a'creepin' up inta the hot box.  

Thats the only reasonable explanation.

Well Jeff, 'Ol Bear gets excited every once in a while. Can't be a burial ground with all the teepee rings. They would'nt go burying their dead in the middle of a hunting camp. That would be bad karma!
