Depends on what you want to do with it.  Tell us what you want to do with it.  Hunt, 3D, sling arrows in the back yard?

I would say no it's not too long.  I have longbows from 66" to 70".  I shoot one of mine that is 68" the most.  Depending on your height 68" may be a little too long in some treestands or if you are hunting in dense timber, but I seldom run into any problems.

I have not noticed any more problems using my 68" long bow then when using my 58" recurve IMO!
simple is good!

Like five-oh said, if you are of normal height or shorter, hunting out of a tree stand with a 68" bow may bring some problems, especially with shots that are close up to you.  If you are taller, that gives you more of a verical clearance out of a stand.  On the ground, you'll just have to be careful of limbs and your position for shots so as not to jam the tip in the ground or catch leaves or what not.  Other than that, 68" shouldn't be a problem.

As long as you are comfortable with it and feel you have a good feel for it, then use it, you won't know until you have tried it in different situations anyway.  Best of luck to you!

Too long is a relative thing. Sometimes my 62" longbow is too long (I'm 5'9"); sometimes it isn't. I haven't felt handicapped from my treestand, and ground hunting is no problem. It is awkward from a ground blind for turkeys. One treestand I have up this year would make it difficult. I'll use my recurve from that one.

I would say, hunt with it and see what you think. Longer bows are usually smoother and have less finger pinch. They can also be more forgiving (not always). If you shoot the bow well, go for it. If you are just getting started with trad, you will add more bows later anyway.  ;)
