Problems with S.A.M. tab
« on: October 20, 2007, 07:22:00 PM »
Hey guys I just ordered a SAM teab to try and it is making pull my arrow off the shelf when I draw. I have never had this problem before and I was just curious if anyone else has had this happen to them. The solution seems easy enough...just don't use it. I guess I will stick with the cheap Neet no pinch tab or next time try something more similar.

Thnaks,
Jon

Jon,

I've used SAM mitts for years!   :)

The key to using the SAM is to trim the tab to the proper size for you. I trim mine to the proper length for my fingers. Then also open up the area where the arrow nock contacts the tab so there is less contact with the leather in that area.

All this takes some experimentation so go slow and  shoot the tab as you trim. Trim a little bit at a time    until your satisfied with the results.  Cutting away in the nocking area is a bit more critical so go slow there as well.

Hope this helps   :)
