First trad kill
« on: November 12, 2007, 05:54:00 PM »
This is my first post, been lurking for a few months.
I have taken many deer with a compound, years back, then stopped hunting a few years. Bow hunting had seemed to lose most of the challenge. Boy did that change this year.I had an old hoyt 45# recurve that I started to shoot again, and decide to  hunt again. I wanted a higher poundage bow, so after searching found a Dan Quallian take down 59# 62" with snake skin covers, nicer than I hoped to find on my budget. After hours of practice I still managed to miss 2 deer. Sunday evening that changed, 12 yard shot from my tree stand I took a big doe down through a lung and out the heart. I am hooked, this bow brought the feeling back to me I used to have when I hunted. I can't wait for another chance..

You can't go wrong with that Quillian Patriot T/D. A very smooth drawing and fast bow. Congrats on your first kill....more will follow!
