Anyone shoot like this?
« on: December 01, 2007, 08:06:00 PM »
I am going to try to get a clip up but let me describe it.
I've been experimenting and found out I'm most accurate this way.
I pull the bow back somewhat off line, not straight back to my anchor point. Then when my draw reaches around my cheek area(pullling with my back muscles) I find the corner of my mouth by moving my head a tad and using my middle finger together.  Once I have that finger in the corner of my mouth I pause for about 3 seconds while I develope my sight picture.  I suppose it is similiar to pullling a compound only with the recurve.

I found out that I can use my back muscles better and not my arm to get to my draw length.

It's difficult to tell someone not to do something that's working but...., generally speaking you should keep your head in the same position and bring your string hand to your anchor point rather than moving your head to get to your anchor point. Although it's working now one thing that could take a turn, amoung others, would be you could start creeping and loosing back tension by moving your head after you get to anchor.
One man thinks he can, the other doesn't. Both are right!
