a little arrow help PLEASE

just starting out in trad.need some help.have a
42#long bow my draw is 28in would like to shoot
125gr tips with a 29-30 in arrow.what should i go with?

1816 in aluminum is a good start. 600s if you want to go with carbon.

I would try a 50-54, maybe a 55-59.  It will depend on the style of bow and degree of centershot.  A FF type string can make a difference as well.

I shoot about the same setup as you, and as Fletcher said it has a lot to do with the bow.  The closer to center the shelf is cut the stiffer the arrow can be.  I shoot a 28 1/2" 2016 with with 170gr points out of my 42# at my 27" draw TS-1 string, and they fly perfect.  For wood, I need to shoot 50-59# spine.

You could shoot a Easton St. Epic 600 carbons with 125gr. easton tips with feathers , should fly great in that set up! Mark#78
