All the archery items were or are on clearance at the local Wal-Mart. I picked up a couple Carbon Express Terminator Lite 45/60 shafts, thought I might try them out. I noticed some numbers on shafts something like 0305567 and 0436789 I thought these were lot numbers. I choose 3 of the 0305567 and when I got home weighted them. This could be just a coincidence but those shafts weight out to 305 grains.

Are those numbers shaft weight?

If so I should have got the 0436789 shafts.

Not sure about the numbers but you can add weight tubes.What draw weight and draw length did you get them for?

The numbers are the id numbers of the shafts, basically.  CX matches all their shafts by weight and spine.  The ones numbered 0305567 weight will be slightly different than the ones numbered 0436789.  One set came from one package of 12 the others came from a different package, that's the only difference.  I shoot only CX shafts and I love them.  I have a 55# Tomahawk and I use the 45/60 CX Terminator Selects.  They work great. I have one of the old red CX weight tubes in mine with a 145gn point for a total of 530 gns.

I bought 29" shafts to shoot out of a 45 @ 28.

I was there again last night and the price is still the same $5.00 a shaft, was close to $8 before sale. I'll wait till this weekend and they should drop again.

I have yet to try them since I'll have to reflech them, with feathers.

I'm going to take my grain scale with me this time. Those were the only 2 numbers I saw on about 40 shafts.

I use CE shafts from Walmart, all different spines. I've noticed the camo ones weight more than the black ones in same spine, also just a little thicker, guess it's the camo coating. I've settled on the 4560's, black, cut to 27", tip to throat of nock. I'm using a 160 grain Magnus Journeyman BH with a 75 grain steel adapter, four fletch 4 1/2" banannas, no wraps. They weight in at 540 grains total and they fly like darts from my Timberhawk TD recurve, which at my draw length is pulling right at 50#. They also fly well from my 56" Findish Hybrid at about 52#. They are also footed one inch with a 2216 shaft, and 3/8" at nock end. Great shafts. Haven't used them on a deer yet, but I'm sure they will do a great job if I do my part. I expect they will drop quite a bit at distance with that weight, but I won't take a shot over twenty yards, my optimum is 15, so I don't have to worry about that.

You should be able to use the 45/60 shafts out of that bow.You might have to use heavy tips to get them to spine correct,so you might have a heavier arrow anyway.If you get heavier ,stiffer arrows they might not shoot from that bow.

How do you cut down carbons. I know not very traditional.  Are there special tools.

Those numbers on the shaft are not weight. I picked up 3 of the 04XXXXXX and weighed them. They weighed in at 318 grains.

Those numbers I stated above are not the actual numbers on the shaft. I was going from memory with is not so good some times.

Both shafts the 03XXXXX and the 04XXXXX weighed the same at 318 grains.

That should would be nice if it were weight.

The 45-60s at my local Wally World were marked $5.00 but rung up as $4.50.  I use 175-200 grain points in my 50-55# bows, and I've found that I can shoot them off the shelf with the 4" vanes as long as I put cock feather in.  I actually like the black ones better as they are easier to scrape the vanes off of without screwing up the looks.  Of course, a cap wrap would cover any scuffed camo finish.  Compared some Gamegetter 2114s I just picked up cheap, the CX shafts shoot like they're made out of fine steel.  Some progress is good, even in trad archery.

Is that $4.50 EACH? Man, I buy Gold Tip 5575 on *$@? for $39.95 per dozen. They are great shafts with the wood grain.
