I'm still a new face here, and new to trad so bear with me. I realize i could probably research this using the search engine here, but everytime i do, it searches every single forum (state shooting groups) and takes about 10 minutes to find results.....and i'm on high speed. anyways, i took my new recurve to gander mountain the other day, shot it through paper and then barshaft shot. first paper shot showed nock high. second shot was almost a perfect tear, but still nock was high. i then bareshaft shot about 5 times. at this stage in the game i'm not good enough to get consisent groups, so i can't say that the bareshafts grouped higher/lower, left or right, but i can say that the nock was several inches higher than the point, and this was sticking into a firm target, not soft or spongy. i think everything indicates that i have a high nock point. i started it off 1/2 high. should i go ahead and move the nock down or should i wait until i get some broadheads and then check and see if i'm getting really higher shots? Shooting a 50 pound Bear, 2016 (500 grains) cut to 29 inches.
