Help me with arrow selection

I'm new to traditional bows.  I have a browning 52" marked as 42# at 28"

My draw lenght is 28 to 28.5"  still working to get my form solid, shot to shot.

My question, what size of arrows should I start with?  Also, to I get 29" arrow to accomodate a broad head and is this the lenght that I use to calculate my arrow choice.

My longbow is 42# at 29"....I draw about 29 1/4. I'm shooting XX75 Easton Legacy's cut to 30 1/2 with either 125 grain tips or 145 grain tips. I can't notice any difference with 20 grains difference. That should be pretty close to what would suit your needs, if the riser is cut to center.

He could be referring to wood arrows.Yes you are correct in your assumption and 29" would be the length and youd adjust the spine accordingly. So you would need a 45-50spine arrow (which is measured at standard 28") but because its one inch longer take 5lbs off and that leaves you at 40-45lb spine which is right on. Of course it also depends on the bow and so you may need a little stiffer since its a short recurve. Tapered wood shafts of 11/32 to 5/16" would be more forgiving and fly even nicer.
