Bob (aromakr) - as always, good advice.  Unfortunately, I have searched over several websites and not found what I am looking for.  Having a model name / number helps, as proved by Dakota Kid.  I had reviewed Black Widow's site several times and for some reason, never stopped to admire the PSR - which looks to be what I am looking for.  But the price - Wow!  Guess if it's worth it though...

Dakota Kid - Thanks!

Basic Instinct - Thank you very much.  Not quite what I had in mind.  I'm looking for a recurve with a longbow grip - that is the reverse - a longbow with a recurve grip.  Thanks anyway!  I appreciate you taking the time to respond and help out.

Whitetail Chaser - Thank you very much as well... but I am looking for a recurve, not a longbow.  Sorry for any confusion.  I know I'm asking for something that isn't the "norm".  Thanks!

j yenney - You may have nailed it!  That looks to be exactly what I am looking for!  I just need to figure out what wood I would like, especially for the limbs.  I want something dark, and they list a lot of what I would (think) are light colored woods.  Maybe a laminate over them?

String Cutter - nice looking bows, but it's hard to tell what the side view looks like from that picture on their site.  If it's like the 58" Kurve underneath the top picture, that almost resembles the Bear riser I have, which I am trying to avoid.  I'll contact them for a better pic.  Thanks!

Apex Predator - That's what I am finding, although I was not aware it was a "50's style" before you said it.  Now I have a name to go with what I am looking for.  Thanks!

Once again, thank you all very much for the replies.  I am gaining ground in my search!
All the best,
Glenn

BTW... I'll be selling off the Bear and Hoyt when I finally settle on my new recurve. (keeping the longbow forever)    :D
Here's one for sale right here....

Nice... but too heavy for me.  That is 61# at 28", so it would probably be about 58/59 at my 27".  Thats about 8-10lbs heavier than what I am looking for.  Thanks anyway.  I appreciate it.  Looks like it did sell to someone else though.
All the best,
Glenn

Cajun,

Go to Robertson Stykbow and check out their bows in stock.  If they have a Peregrine that fits your specs, I'd recommend having them send it to you for demo.  Only cost you shipping to try it and you can keep it if you like it (but that'll cost a little more) and they are great shooters -Dick Robertson builds some of the best shooting bows around!  Good luck, Greg

Check out a Fedora 60" 560 recurve. He can make it any combination of woods that you want and he puts a locator grip on all of his bows. they are fast and smooth to draw. He made one of these for the Maryland Bowhunters Society banquet two years ago and everyone who shot it loved it. The guy who won it at auction couldn't stop smiling.
