bloody lip

What am I doing wrong. when I shoot my lower lip bleeds. The blood covers my middle finger. No pain it just starts bleeding. I have not changed my anchor. I shoot split finger. It used to happen occasionally but now it happenes every time I shoot.

  What kind of nockset(s) do you use, brass or tied on?.

Curious... do you hold at anchor, or do you snap-shoot?

Do you use a deep hook, or shoot off the finger tips?

my nock set is brass.set above the arrow.

I hold my anchor for just a second. I shoot from just in front of the first joint on fingers, I also cant the bow.

if you shoot with a tab that is too long, sometimes it will smack your lips or nose.

You might be turning your head more at full draw than you used to.

Checked my tab it is not the problem.

Turning my head. Had not thought of that, will if that was it as soon as it stops raining.

I used to do the same thing. Every once in a while I would clip my nose.  That'll wake you up.

I have a small scab on my nose right now from the string.  And I've been smacking my lip as well.  It doesn't feel good, that's for sure.

I've started doing the same thing (hitting my lower lip).  Not cool.

I know I've just started canting my head to match my bow's cant....and my accuracy has improved.

But this is for the birds.

I've typically seen your type of problem when someone's trying to get very last little bit of draw length the can and they end up rotating their face more into the strings path as a result.  The nose also becomes a target when this happens.  You may be trying to draw the bow further back than what your body type and good shooting form will allow.

I went out and slung 30 arrows, this morning.  I made sure I was turning my head into my full draw position before I draw (I WAS turning it into the string after reaching full draw).  I also made sure the tab was far enough back on my fingers, exposing the ends.

NO ISSUES!
