Arrow Building Supplies?
« on: November 16, 2007, 09:41:00 AM »
Well Im gonna try and take the plunge and give a go at making some arrows.  Just curious what else ya'll think I need?

I have so far..

Jig
Burner for glues and what not
Glue bottles
Shaft Cutter

Also picked up a fletching stripper
Some weighted brass washers
Fieldpoint Test Kit

Now besides arrow supplies ie shaft inserts etc etc...

What else would I need?

Also what types of glues would be best to use?  I enjoy aluminums and shoot them mostly but would like to get into woodies in the near future. So which adhesives to ya'll recommend for inserts and fletching?

Arrow building is one of my favorite past times, you'll love it.

For aluminum I like Ferrule Tite for inserts, I like regular Fletch Tite for bare aluminum fletching and Fletch Tite Platinum over wraps.

Duco works great on woodies over poly.

Lots of good options though, everybody has their method from different glues to Fletch Tape.

Saunders NPV glue, is one of the best i've used. Only thing I don't use it on is wraps. Thats when I use Fletch-Tite Platinum.
