best string silencer??
« on: April 11, 2010, 03:05:00 PM »
switched to a 3 under glove release a few months ago and wrestled for a while with the additional "TWANG" that resulted. Finally quelled the string report by moving the nocking point up 3/16", (which help some just on its own), but mainly when I went to the old tried and true "rubber spiderleg catwhiskers"! I guess it's the old "if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it!". Bowstring guru Steve Smith ,(bearbowman), suggested I try them and he was dead right! Said he thought they were still one of the best string silencers he knew of...guess that's why he make great bowstrings! Hope it helps someone.....regards...john
