Shooting consistant groups is great, but to me the very first shot I take is the most important.

All good advice. Wih me it's definitely mental. Knowing this I like to practice moving around, and don't pay attention to the exact distance. With concentration, I find my mind adjusts to the distance. Good luck, and don't change your setup.

One question - did you change tabs or gloves?

I was in California around 1996. I watched an Japanese fella shoot his Yumi for about 45 mins. from distances of 20-50 yds. at a target dot the size of a coffee cup lid. I went over and intro'ed myself and told him how impressive his shooting was and wished I could shoot as well. He told me his secret "know your bow,Know your practice, Then when shooting at targets forget it" in other words let it happen don't think about it just shoot.
