Straight grips - bulbous

How do yo guys grip your straight handles? Where is he bulk of the pressure on your hand and such? I seem to get an occasional flyer and I am about sure its a result of a bad grip. I tried using the whole heel of my hand, but that didnt work at all. It seems to work best if I just "grip" the bow with my index finger and thumb. Thanks for your thoughts!

put more pressure on your bottom 2 fingers (ring and pinky)wrap those around the handle more.

Thanks dragonheart, I absolutely love the feel of a straight handle, but they sure arent very nice to play with! It also seems different arrow material's are affected differently by my grip. Wood seems to be the most intolerant to my grip issue's, which happens to be the shaft material I am dead set on using.

Drums, If you are so set on a long bow,may I reccomend "Become The Arrow" by Bryon Ferguson. It will give you a weath of information.

Check out the video clips of Howard Hill on this site and notice how he held his longbow.  Another good reference is Masters of Barebow II video where Gary Davis and Dean Torges shoot their selfbows in the Hill style.  

If you shoot a Hill-style (straight or slight dished grip) bow it'll likely work better with a Hill-style handhold on the bow.  Hill believed in that type of grip...that's good enough for me.
