There must be 10,000 threads on this here but here is my take.

Split pros-quieter, more control over the arrow, I shoot moving targets better, I can shoot longer targets easier with less hold over.
Split cons-can't really find any since I started as a boy in the 50s.  It's a natural thing for me.

3 under pros-arrow closer to eye.  Some feel they can hit close objects better, people just entering archery find it easier to master at first.
3 under cons-noisier bow, less control over arrow especially on moving targets, short point on distance which is a consideration if you shoot a lot of 3-D or roving with longer than hunting distances taken.

As rd said, there are numerous discussions on this very topic, several, as a matter of fact immediately under your thread.   :deadhorse:

Additionally, only you can decide what are 'pros' and 'cons' of a particular shooting style, as what is a 'pro' for one shooter, is a 'con' for another.

You might try looking at the other threads on this topic and coming back to the group with any 'specific' questions about a particular shooting style.

Good Luck, & Have Fun!

for me the way I anchor split finger put 70% of the draw weight on my ring finger which was painful but I managed it for years and shot well.  I then tried three under and started anchoring with my index finger in corner of mouth and it made all the difference.  My point on and everything stayed the same as the arrow stayed the same in relation to my face.  But now my fingers don't hurt and I think I am drawing longer as well.  My bow did not get loud either

Most of it has to do with what feels comfortable in my opinion.  A lot of it is going to be determined by your shooting style and the shape of your face.  Try them both and don't be afraid to switch back and forth--try new things!
