Rod Jenkins class
« on: April 25, 2011, 07:47:00 AM »
After 40 years of shooting traditional with some moderate sucess,I decided to get some help and attend a shooting clinic,(just a one day class).Well I was kinda skeptical about changing my grip, anchor and going to a dynamic release but what the heck,I never was very consistent on the way the different books said how to do it that I read over the years. So after the class and sticking to the program that Rod lays out for you I can say without a doubt that this has been the best thing I have ever done to get a consistent accurate shot.I feel confident  now that if it ain't movin it's dead.I wish I would have done this a long time ago.If your having shooting issues I would strongly recomend a Rod Jenkins class.

Do you know if Rod ever makes up to KS or the surrounding states?

One more question. Does he change the aiming method you use or just your form?

Rod just works on form. It has been 1 year to the day that I took his class. Best thing I have done to improve my shooting.

Aiming is the easy part, but that comes later, just work on the form he teaches and you'll be amazed with the results.I don't know his scedule but trust a hard headed redneck from Alabama his method rocks.

Dennis , I noticed your post above. I was wondering if you went back to your heavy bow after working with Rod on your shooting. If so did you go right back to your heavy bow or work back into gradually ? After working the bail for 21 days I think I know why you go BANG! at your conclusion. Preformed properly your release is kinda like an explosion....Greg

Greg, I went back up to 70# for most of my hunting. Could certainly drop more, but there is always hope for a cape buffalo hunt in the future and I hate to have to build way up if it happens. With better technique I learned from Rod, it makes holding the heavier poundage easier too.

Thanks for the answer Dennis. I am now starting to shoot my 62# 'er , to get ready for a May bear hunt. I plan on starting the bridge when I return from my hunt. In the mean time I will continue the bale work right along with my shooting to get ready for my hunt. I have found, that it is easier to get the disired realease with my heavier bow...Greg

Rod's class was definitely the best money I have spent on my hunting or shooting. I'm still on the 21 or so days and haven't started aiming....................very often but everything else is feeling really good and much more consistent. Loving it so far.
