First Robin Hood Shot!
« on: August 08, 2011, 05:07:00 PM »
Well, I have been at this archery thing for 3 months or so and I was out shooting groups of three from around 18 yards or so...when I heard the sound! The same sound I heard one time at a local 3D shoot when a friend shattered the back of my arrow.

This was done with a 45# Warf bow and luckily it was during a close grouping (I was aiming for the "O" in Block.

My first though was -$20. Second was "This is pretty uncommon so I guess it's cool". Third was "Wait, only one arrows is damaged so it's only -$10 unless I want to keep the two together".

- 62" Black Bear Warf with TradTech Black Max Carbon 45# limbs
- 52" Bear Kodiak Magnum 45#
- 57.5" Black Hawk Short Hornet
- 52" Black Hawk Avenger 50#
- 62" Black Hawk Bee 45#
- 60" Ben Pearson Varsity 25#

I would have to disagree here.

Congrats on your first and keep them stuck together and hang them in your man cave. There is no doubt that it is a cool feeling to see that happen for the first time. I still have my first two on the wall in my garage.

That being said; while it is gratifying to see the results of good shooting, It just stinks to see another $12 go in the trash. I did it today at the shop and just cringed when I heard the sound. It gets expensive if you keep on doing it.

Congrats again on your first.

YEH, it sucks when you see the $$ going down the drain. If you get 10 shots with the arrow first its not so bed - bullets are a dollar a shot and thats all you get 1 shot! Whereas with a bow the shots are endless ( unless you have a Robin Hood ), I tell my wife this hoping she will let me get a HH bow but NO, she says " do you think Im stupid, you're not getting another rifle either!
