so close it spooked me
« on: November 20, 2007, 02:04:00 AM »
Guys I hate to reiterate something here but I about lost a finger last nite.   BE CAREFUL with power tools.

Table saw gave me a love peck thankfully instead of a hungry bite!  Not the most comfortable feeling in the world.  never hurt more then my ego but it hurt that bad.

Either way, be smart about things!  I was just plum stupid to get bit.

Sorry to hear that. Hope it doesn't affect your bow shooting.

Yep....Power tools do not think....  :scared:
You have to do that for them....
I just use hand held blades in my Leather shop and I cut myself often....  :knothead:

Glad to hear that you didn't lose any fingers!  I know quite a few people who have had an accident with tools and lost one or several fingers(I've come close far too many times).  Jointers and table saws really get my nerves jumpy. Thanks for the reminder. Matt

I've had my closest calls with table saws ad routers.  Usually when a piece bucks .

Glad to hear your still intact.

just hit the tip of my left hand pointer.

I'm sure to keep the string hand away from all sharp objects...well most of the time  ;)

Carl,

was cutting some footed shaft blanks out boy was awhile ago....just told this story last nite as matter of fact.

Big big industrial table saw.  Guess the strip I cut binded up and kicked back...hit me right square in the right side love handle before they were love handles....Put me to my knees!   Had a push stick and everything, shew.   Seems like the tablesaw has my number.   I'm using a small table top style.  Gonna have what I need ripped done by a buddy now just to save everything on this last build and rethink what I'm doing..that or use the bandsaw  ;) .
