I've fooled around with trigger releases on a recurve. There are pluses and minuses. On the good side, you'll get a cleaner release and it's easier to pull more weight. On the bad side, you'll need to find a different anchor (I had to use a kisser), re-tune with stiffer arrows, install a D-loop to help reduce the extra noise and serving wear, and if you have a problem with collapsing or punching a trigger, it will be worse.

Winn archery makes a release that uses a glove so that the pressure is on your wrist called the Free Flight.
