Hows your shooting?

Here are some things I see that you may want to work on, or just think about and see what you think, what I say is not a "HAVE TOO" sort of a thing, cause some things work for people some things dont.

keeping your bow hand and release hand in place after the shot for just a short time.

back tension for a good follow through, when you release your hand is kinda out there doing nothing, it needs to jump back or stay planted.

when you draw the bow your bow hand goes up and then down, id try to get it to not do the let it go up and stop and you can do this with push pull method or just set the bow arm and plant it the start drawing the bow.

just a few things, what i would do it look at other archers form and compare look at whats different and what that is, it will help.

I would echo Cherry Tree, How's your shooting??
What I would suggest you look at and try is that you have a slight collapse just before and during release -- your string hand moves slightly forward on your face -- not every time but enough to cause inconsistencies.  This can cause an inconsistent string hand reaction to the release.  Your draw looks pretty good to me, your string elbow is moving slightly down during the draw, this is good.  You might try thinking of keeping that movement but at the same time try letting the elbow come AROUND your spine more toward your back.  That might help you stay more in your back muscles and prevent that slight collapse.

If you've only been at this a short time, you are doing VERY well!

Are you willing to give up what you are; to become what you could be?

My shooting is not that bad but I am coming from a wheel bow (bad word) were my groups were the size of a half dollar at 50yds so I will keep at this tell I get it right. I sold my wheel bow and all I have to shoot is my recurve so I have to improve. Then maybe the convedence will come with it.  Mike

The one thing I notice is it looks like in the last video that you come back almost to a different anchor point each time and you release quickly. Almost borderline snap shooting, which can be okay. For me as I am learning to clean up my form I sometimes take and go through each step of the shot slowly to concentrate on my form. This allows me to feel each part of a correct shot so I can groove that feeling into my subconscious.

c thats what I mean I didn't even notice that and I have watched this video 10 times. I really need to find a good anchor point that has more than one contact point if that makes any sense. I mean string on the nose, index finger in the corner of the mouth or maybe the fletch touching something what do you guys use?  Mike
