Sometime we just get lazy or in a rut
« on: December 08, 2011, 07:42:00 PM »
My shooting has been a little inconsistent lately throwing a lot of arrows slightly left. Today I tried really to create good back tension like I like to do and magically the arrows were perfectly in line and hitting where I was looking.

I had been trying everything I could think of and here it's something as basic as that.

I think we all become lazy or get in shooting slumps from simple things like this. I should drag out the formaster more often as a muscle memory refresher.

If and when I start shooting a little off I start to do a total break down of my shooting until I find the problem, doesn't take but a few shots to figure it out, and then I am back on track.

Lazy, never, not about my shooting.

I used to have this problem as I would shoot for long periods of time each day. I used to get sloppy at the end of each shooting session as I got tired mentally. Now I shoot for about 15 or so minutes a day and my shooting is improving faster than it was before. I think that it is better to take your time with each and every shot than to just go out a fling a lot of arrows in each practice session.
