wrist sling

How many of ya'll use a wrist sling to keep your bow from jumping out of your hand due to having a loose grip on the bow? Does this seem to help your shooting? I know the bow is supposed to jump towards the target but I always just use a loose grip and grab the handle after the shot. Just wondering.

There are some that use a wrist sling, but they are few and far between, try it and if it helps, use it.

I use one on everything except one of my longbows.

I played with one for a while after seeing a couple of shooters using them in the Masters of The Barebow Series.  I think that they work for shooting targets and could be (and are) used in the field with success...(I used one successfully with a string-walking set-up once on a pig)... but for me (at least for now)...I've decided that it is one accessory that I can live without.  However, you might want to give it a try. As I get older I try not to knock things that I haven't tried.  If you try a sling you might find that it improves your shooting and enjoyment; and if it does that, then I'd say it is a good thing and worth using.

I have always used on on my Recurves. I shoot a relxed hand and the sling helps me not to grab the bow.

I use one all the time on my hunting recurves.  No down side, and if I have a boo boo, I'd just as soon not have to climb down the tree to examine the damage.  :^)

On the other hand, if you're "grabbing" the bow, there's a whole lot of down side.

You can tie a finger sling out of an old shoelace or piece of paracord.  I quite like them, cheap, easy to make (and loose).  But enough to let you relax your hand and keep the bow in there after release.
