Midrange Inconsistency
« on: August 24, 2012, 07:24:00 AM »
Seem to be having an issue with my midrange consistency.  When shooting from 5-10 yards, no problem...when shooting from 17-20 yards, no problem but when I get into the 11-16 yard range I can't seem to place my shots consistently.  I know for most of you what I call my current midrange is short range but I have just recently picked up my bow after many many years of not really shooting any and am trying to get serious with it.

Currently I am shooting a Bear Montana Longbow that is rated at 55lbs @ 28", pulling about 53lbs at my 27" draw.  I'm shooting 28" cedar arrows spined 55/60 with a 125gr point.  Glove or calf hair tab, split finger.  Bow weight is not a problem, I pull that poundage very easily with no undue strain when I reach my anchor.

Any ideas what's causing my problem midrange and any suggestions on how to work on it?
