eyes open?

Was wondering how many people shoot with both eyes open? I have for years always closed one eye but recently started playing around with both eyes open. Some ways I like this better and other ways I prefer the old method. Any opinions on which works best for you....Thanks

I shoot with both eyes open. I am not a great shot but I think you will find that most of the guys on here shoot with both eyes open. With one eye closed you have no depth perception and depth perception is critical when you are shooting without sights. Are you a gap shooter? Possibly some gap shooters on here close one eye?

There might be reasons someone would close one eye but that would be in the minority.  All the shooting sports recommend both eyes open as a general approach.  Yes, even shooting a rifle scope.

It is what you get used to but as I say, all the shooting instructors I know TRY to start folks off with both eyes open.

Lonnie, You already know that I shoot with both eyes open. Started doing it when I was a kid bird hunting so you could see other shooters and continued it on all weapons.

I honestly think I am going to be switching to this as what little I have done it it seems more natural and consistent

I always shoot both eyes open, this allows you to maintain constant sight on your target and is good practice for deer.

With both eyes open when I release I maintain constant sight which in hunting is vital as a lot of people will throw down their bow hand to see where they hit or to watch the deer run. With both eyes open you are aiming with your dominate eye and seeing where you hit with your other eye. This helps me follow through.  

If you close your eye on the release you may jerk your bow hand and you may not hit where you were looking (not following through). But it's all a manner of comfort, if you are accurate shooting one eye open, then shoot one eye open. If not I would recommend trying both eyes open.
